STREET MEDICINE INSTITUTESEED GRANT AWARDS
Award Description and ObjectiveThe Street Medicine Institute is excited to announce Seed Grants for new Street Medicine Programs! Our goal is to assist early stage street medicine programs – particularly in areas not currently served by street medicine – advance toward a more sustainable level of operation. Supported by the generosity of the Pulte Family Charitable Foundation, two successful grantees will each receive an award valued at $13,750 to include:
The SMI consultation will include one day either on-site or virtually (depending upon pandemic safety considerations), along with an additional 8-10 hours of telephone or zoom support scheduled in 1-2 hour increments. The free Program Membership includes free registration for the 2022 International Street Medicine Symposium (ISMS); awardees are encouraged to attend Street Medicine 101 during the symposium as part of their consultative process. Awardees will be expected to provide written objectives to be achieved as a result of the Seed Grant; and, a written report regarding how the SMI Seed Grant has impacted the development of their program will be required at twelve and twenty-four months post award date. Further, awardees will be invited to share their program story at the 2023 ISMS. Applicant CriteriaSuccessful applicant programs will have moved beyond concept to the early stages of development. For example, while street rounds are essential to every street medicine program, it takes much preparation to arrive at the point where a team is ready to perform rounds. Not doing rounds yet does not disqualify your program. Through our Applicant Requirements, we are looking for evidence of steps that have been taken towards readying your team for its work. You’ll find questions addressing the following topics in the Application Form. Successful applicants will be expected to provide evidence of progress or planning in each of the high-level categories itemized:
