Join the SMI Student Coalition on August 19th 6-7 PM EST / 3-4 PM PST for a presentation by Dr. Katia Cnop from the USC Keck School of Medicine. After this addiction medicine webinar, you will be able to appraise the homelessness crisis in the United States, understand street medicine as a solution, and the unique challenges people experiencing homelessness face when accessing substance use disorder treatment. Dr. Cnop will discuss the mainstay medication-assisted treatments for opioid use disorder and discuss various direct-to-inject buprenorphine induction strategies as novel but effective methods to overcome treatment barriers experienced by those who are unsheltered.
